Qualifications:

1.    Current CNA certification.
2.    Ability to apply basic principles of nursing care based on standards of nursing practices.
3.    Sufficient verbal and written communication skills to perform the tasks required.

Essential Job Functions:

1.    Performs routine resident care in accordance with company nursing policies and procedures.
2.    Ensures that adequate nutritional and fluid intake is provided. Assists residents as needed.
3.    Complies with safety policies and practices.
4.    Uses equipment correctly during the performance of direct resident care.
5.    Follows all infection control guidelines during the performance of resident care.
6.    Makes frequent observations for indications of change of resident condition during performance of routine resident care.
7.    Reports promptly any change of resident condition or other concerns to licensed nurse.
8.    Follows charting guidelines to document care to resident health record.
9.    Employs preventive and restorative measures. 

Additional Duties:

1.    Prioritizes resident care activities based on current care needs.
2.    Participates in all assigned meetings.
3.    Participates in all training, education or in-service as required. 
4.    Report for duty in approved uniform/appropriate dress.
5.    Maintains high standards of personal hygiene. 
6.    Display courteous behavior toward consumers and co-workers.
7.    Follows consumer services standards for making daily contact with residents, greeting visitors and making contact with newly admitted resident. 
8.    Performs other duties as assigned. 

Physical Requirements:

1.    Continuous bending, squatting, twisting and reaching.
2.    Repetitive grasping, fine manipulation and occasional pushing/pulling up to 200 pounds. 
3.    Occasional patient lifting up to 150 pounds with assistance.
