Together with the San Gabriel Valley Public Affairs Network and Regional Chamber, the Industry Business Council is proud to welcome, U.S. House Representative Gil Cisneros to our Management Operations Luncheon, “New Faces of the San Gabriel Valley” on Thursday, August 22nd.
Congressman Cisneros was elected in 2018 to represent California’s 39th Congressional District which covers portions of the Orange, Los Angeles, and San Bernardino Counties. Since beginning his Congressional career, Congressman Cisneros has been serving on the House Armed Services Committee and House Committee on Veterans Affairs.
Important issues for Congressman Cisneros are jobs, economic development and infrastructure improvements, including the SR 57/60 Confluence Project. Having over 25,000 businesses in his district he has taken the initiative to get to know the local business owners by hosting business tours to learn more about each business’ contributions to the local, regional, and national economy.
“America’s businesses are as diverse as its citizens,” said Congressman Cisneros.” Each of these businesses have a unique role in bridging our communities together and bolstering the national economy.”
Congressman Cisneros leads a bipartisan coalition of Representatives from Southern California to offer their support to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) Grant for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority 57/60 Confluence Project.
“I am pleased to announce that we submitted a bipartisan letter of support to the INFRA Grant Program which seeks a significant investment in the 57/60 Project to improve safety and efficiency in our region’s transportation system,” said Congressman Cisneros. “One of my top priorities in Congress is ensuring that our major infrastructure projects in the district receive the federal support they need. Our district and California is a gateway to commerce and this grant will not only help our local economy but will also make our roadways safer for commuters and families.”
The grant application is for the State Route (SR) 57/60 Confluence Chokepoint Relief Project. The SR 57/60 Project will improve mobility and safety through these heavily congested freeways that share an alignment for approximately two miles in the City of Industry and Diamond Bar.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with Congressman Cisneros and learn more about who he is, what is happening in his district and at the federal level and share important priorities he wants to accomplish this year.
